Visiting Angels® and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America Have Formed a Partnership!

Mission: To Improve the Quality of Life for Clients with Alzheimer's Disease and Their Families

Visiting Angels helps provide Quality of Life for the elderly and their families, who are living with the suffering effects of Alzheimer's. Most often, after an initial diagnosis of Alzheimer's, families are faced with difficult decisions about providing care for their loved ones.

The hardest choices to be made are by families who are separated by great distances. They need assurance that caregivers will be accountable and keep them informed of any problems. Nursing homes and special care retirement centers do provide that type of care, but they are not the only option. You do have a choice and we can help.

Our companion-care provides seniors with joyful companionship, which helps to reduce loneliness and depression. Our care givers can also provide medication-reminders, meal-prep, shopping, light housekeeping, laundry, transport & accompaniment, as part of our companion care.

As part of a collaborative relationship formed by Visiting Angels and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Visiting Angels has become the first national, non-medical, senior home care provider in North America to offer an AFA sponsored formal training and qualification program for professionals who care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses.

Eric J. Hall, AFA's chief executive officer, praised Visiting Angels for stepping up to provide Dementia Care Professionals of America (DCPA) training to Visiting Angel's staff of healthcare professionals.

As the incidence of Alzheimer's disease continues to increase, it is critical that organizations recognize the importance of setting high quality standards for healthcare providers. These efforts will go a long way toward providing optimal care to those in need.

Working through the DCPA, a new membership division of the AFA for healthcare professionals, Visiting Angels agencies across North America train and qualify selected caregivers to provide service to individuals and families trying to cope with this challenging disease.

Visiting Angels non-medical home care services allow your loved one the comfort of remaining in the familiar surroundings of  home by providing individualized home care and a safe, supervised environment.
Visiting Angels also provides respite for families who care for their elderly parents or relatives in their homes. Visiting Angels provides experienced, compassionate, caregivers who are trained to deal with the bad days as well as the good days, providing a routine of productive activities to help stimulate the mind.
